75 Dollar Bill's "Wooden Bag" Back in Print on Vinyl!!

75 Dollar Bill -- Wooden Bag finally back in print on vinyl!!

Formed in 2012, 75 Dollar Bill draw from various sources from around the world and across disciplines — everything from Mauritanian guitar to raw minimalism and blown-out urban blues — yet the New York City instrumental duo’s music sounds like nothing you’ve heard before. Originally released in January of 2015, their limited vinyl debut, Wooden Bag, followed various cassette and digital EPs, and quickly sold out.

In 2016 the group released their critically acclaimed second album, WOOD/METAL/PLASTIC/PATTERN/RHYTHM/ROCK, which fleshed out the band's sound with ensemble arrangements for strings and horns; Wooden Bag captures the rawness and intensity of the duo formation and hews closer to their incendiary live sound. Now back in print from new lacquers cut at Chicago Mastering and manufactured at Memphis Record Pressing, this re-release sounds and looks fantastic. A must-have for fans both old and new, the LP comes packaged in a custom “disco sleeve,” which reproduces the original’s hand-stamped art, and includes a download card.

Anna von Hausswolff Releases Chilling New Video, Tours With SWANS

Having just finished a second run performing in Alexander Ekman’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for The Royal Swedish Ballet, Anna von Hausswolff is gearing up for an extensive European tour with SWANS. (Dates listed here.) In conjunction with the tour, she has just shared a new video for the remarkable 11-minute doomscape opus "Come Wander With Me/Deliverance," directed by Anna’s sister, Maria von Hausswolff.
Taken from 2015’s highly acclaimed album The Miraculous, "Come Wander With Me/Deliverance" is a track of gargantuan scale and power. Originating as a cover of Jeff Alexander & Anthony Wilson’s track from The Twilight Zone, the song grew bigger with every live performance, eventually forming a second song, "Deliverance." The result is a driving crusade of colossal scale.
Maria von Hausswolff gives the track even further weight with this new accompanying film, which she describes as: “An abstract dreamy tale about loneliness, about fighting against your own demons and about being strong; shot deep inside a Swedish forest.”

Boogarins Video Premiere on Brooklyn Vegan

Following the band's successful headlining slot of the Vodafone Stage at Rock in Rio Lisboa, Boogarins are back to share a new video, which has just premiered on BrooklynVegan

The lyrics to “Tempo” speak about stopping time and freeing yourself from the everyday grind of work and school and escaping the pressures of daily life, and for the video, the band called out to their fans to help illustrate the point. They reached out to their fans on social media, and asked them shoot footage of two different moods; first, “man’s world,” full of soul-crushing images of urban life and responsibilities; second, images of your sanctuary — friends, nature, music , art, and anything that makes you feel open and free. They received hundreds of submissions, which were then crafted into a coherent whole by director Owen Mack of Cobrandit Films, including hundreds of images and sounds collected by Boogarins fans across Brazil and around the world.

Thanks to every listener, every audience, every band that we shared a stage with, every person who connected with a record, every artist who lent a hand visually or musically to one of our records, every person who helped behind the scenes and helped get our records out, and every venue that gave us an ear. The mission was to spread joy, and we think we did a pretty dang good job with that! We are going to play the rest of our dates (see below) and would love to see you there to share in these last days before we look back with wonder. God bless, peace and love always."

The Zephyr Bones RSD Spain 7" to Be Released via Other Music & La Castanya

The Zephyr Bones
are a surfer-psych-pop band based in Barcelona, named after a skater society from the 70s. Having moved from Chile to Spain to start a band, the four-piece of Brian, Jossip, Toni and Nico have their own studio in Barcelona called Big Beat Big Waves. Their music is full of summery beach vibes and the sea is a huge inspiration to them, drawing on the never-ending sunsets, all roads leading to the ocean. They draw inspiration from US bands such DIIV, the Drums, Wild Nothing, Real Estate, Beach Fossils and Beach House, using skeletal rhythms, sparse instrumentation and shimmering synthesizers to create delightfully danceable melodies.
Following on from their debut four-track EP Wishes/ Fishes, released by La Castanya in July of 2014, the band return with their first international release, a double aa side 7" single released by La Castanya in conjunction with New York's Other Music. “Black Lips” could easily pass for one of the best tunes by DIIV, with a summery California-style vocal melody, while “Surrounded by Sunflowers” is reminiscent of tracks from Tame Impala's "Inner Speaker."
The new 7" single is available here. The Zephyr Bones will release their first full-length album later in the year.
