"Tempo" is about freeing yourself from the man’s clock. Boogarins are making a video for the song, and the band wants fans to send them their own short video clips, showing one of two things:
1) THE MAN'S WORLD: images and scenes of traffic, skyscrapers, development, boring work or school — the world you want to escape. or
2) YOUR SANCTUARY: What makes time stop for you, where can you escape? Friends, family, nature, music, art — anything that makes you feel open and free.
Have fun with it, you can be as literal or as abstract as you want, and you can send as many clips as you want, but each one should be no longer than 10 seconds, shot horizontally/landscape mode on the highest quality setting you can. Upload clips here: http://bit.ly/1J7ZSCV. By uploading your film, you give Boogarins the irrevocable right to use any and all footage in the “Tempo” video, or any way they choose, in perpetuity.
Expanding upon their West and Midwest US dates in February supporting Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Xylouris White have just added a slew of shows that will find the duo performing the last two weeks of that month on the East Coast, joining Kurt Vile and the Violators on their North American tour. Featuring legendary Cretan lutenist George Xylouris and drum icon Jim White (Dirty Three, Cat Power, Will Oldham, PJ Harvey), the duo come from different parts of the world and vastly divergent musical backgrounds, but together have forged something surprising and impossible to categorize. Describing their sound as "intense, joyous and rugged," the New York Times also wrote, "Their music starts with old Cretan forms — the brisk, dance-beat sousta and the slow, sung, expressive rizitika — and spreads outward into loose, sympathetic improvisations of uncertain length, the kind of thing that has been at the center of each man’s music for a long time." Xylouris White's debut full-length, Goats, is out on Other Music Recording Co. The just announced dates are below, and you can view their full tour schedule (including their current European tour) listed here.

Anna von Hausswolff’s new album, The Miraculous, is currently streaming in full over at FACT in advance of its November 13 release. FACT writes, "At times, The Miraculous evokes Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, Black Sabbath and Sunn O))), with siren-like vocals reminiscent of Diamanda Galas. 'It seems like everything I do is both a little bit in and out of fashion,' von Hausswolff says. In fashion or not, The Miraculous is exactly that."
Q Magazine has just premiered the video for "Babyboy," the latest single off Monika's new album, Secret in the Dark. Director Spyros Dahlias tells Q, "I immediately knew that it had to be about a journey, exactly like Monika’s journey from Athens to New York. But, this time why not embarking on a galactic one? We wanted the video to be a sci-fi dream, to feel dark and mysterious like an old James Bond title sequence and have many many Monikas in it. She’s multiplying and trying to find her Babyboy. She never reaches him at the end, but again it’s all about the trip."
Boogarins' latest album, Manual, was just released on Friday, October 30, with the Brazilian psych-rock band embarking on a European tour in support. The band now shares the Granada Filmes-directed video for new single "6000 Dias," which premiered on NME. Reviewer Rhian Daly writes:
"This track, like those that surround it on the album, is like stepping into a vivid dream: full of guitar lines that are woozy, hazy things, before growing in strength and building into a vibrant tangle that wraps itself around your ears."
To celebrate the release of their new digital EP, Unknown Forces, Tall Tales and the Silver Lining have shared a new music video (directed by Betsy Winchell) for the title track. Chief songwriter and bandleader Trevor Beld Jimenez calls the song “Unknown Forces,” which also appears on their latest full-length album Tightropes, “a little prayer.” On the new EP, “Unknown Forces” is joined by two unreleased tracks from the Tightropes album sessions, “Burning Out” and “Stay Away from Me,” and a live recording of Tightropes’ “Waves” from an in-studio performance at LA public broadcaster KCSN. The innovative mobile-web edition, designed for social engagement and sharing, presents the tracks, a new video for “Unknown Forces,” image portfolio, band interview, liner notes, and an integrated Spotify playlist for the full Tightropes LP - a record Diffuser called one of the best albums of 2015.
After appearances with Fruit Bats in October, Tall Tales and the Silver Lining will join Vetiver November 3rd in Portland; November 6th in Oakland; and November 7th in Los Angeles. Complete tour dates are listed below the video.

"The Brazilian teenage duo leave their school days of recording in their parents’ basements behind and head off on a strange, beguiling and highly unorthodox journey through psychedelia and tropicalia. Their second album Manual shows how they are maturing well, and at a startling rate."
The New York Times is now streaming Boogarins' upcoming album, Manual, featured in the publication's "Press Play" column. Describing the Brazilian psych-rock band's new record as "driven by hazy guitars, cyclical riffs and murmured vocals — but with hints of Jobim’s bossa nova grooves," you can listen to the full album on the NY Times website. Manual is out on 10/30, and available for pre-order here.
